Our story

The roots of My Mobility Path, LLC began in 2007 when the now CEO of the Company, Steve Chandler began selling accessible vehicles in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley.  Having owned a car dealership for 8 years, Mr. Chandler was skeptical of the auto industry, its ethics and public perception, and vowed to stay out of the sector as his career choice.   It was only with the urgings of a friend that he decided to see what the accessible transportation industry was like.   Mr. Chandler began working for the mobility dealership MITS of Virginia. It was there he found work that he thoroughly enjoyed.  It was especially fulfilling to him because customers were grateful for information; they listened to advice.  It quickly became evident that the industry needed informed professionals who could analyze situations, and who knew the adaptive products and available conversions in the market.  It was also evident that finding and obtaining the best solution for any one person was difficult on the internet, even for the savviest of web searchers.

Working in the accessible industry, Mr. Chandler found there were areas that seemed backward in their progression and unfair to the consumer.  Individuals did not have access to the MSRP of many mobility solutions, nor did they have consumer product ratings.   There was not a way to find a converted vehicle’s value outside the dealership itself.   Then there was the most noticeable shortcoming of the industry: customers could not use their own banks or credit unions to purchase their accessible vehicle of choice.  Banks and Credit Unions just do not understand the value of converted vehicles.   The end result – either the customer did not get an accessible vehicle, or they took out a loan with a national finance group and dealt with the higher interest rates.

After about a decade of work at MITS of Virginia, Mr. Chandler began realizing his efforts with researched appraisals were facilitating customer needs in a way that was unique to the market, specifically bank and credit union approvals and fair settlements with insurance companies.

My Mobility Path, LLC has a strong and diverse group of leaders, all bringing something different to the table but with one thing in common: they all want to see things get easier and more transparent for the end users in the mobility industry.

It is the Company’s goal to provide information and answers; to keep an eye out for added services to help the market, to provide the information to save households time and money in their search, and ultimately, to get individuals to their destination – their best mobility fit.
